I take it that you're not including yourself in the "most people" category?
With the euro so strong and northern/western Europe being expensive in any case, Latin America, Africa and Asia make the most travel sense right now.
The UK pound hit $2.00 the other day. A practical example: McDonald's has a "value menu" ... if it is $1.00 here, it is £1 there (or double our price). It doesn't feel twice as expensive to a Brit, so right now, their money would buy a lot more here than in Britain (and, in fact, more Brits are visiting the U.S. than usual). For Americans, the UK is quite expensive now (believe me, I know).
